The gold lever stopwatch by Russell & Son, pictured below, sold recently for pounds 1,100. Thomas Russell is listed as a watchmaker in 1848 at 20 Slater Street, Liverpool and later at 30 Slater Street. About 1859 he appears to have handed over control of the company to Thomas Robert Russell and Alfred Holgate Russell and the firm changed its name to Thomas Russell & Son.
