WALKON could bid for glory in the totesport Trophy Hurdle at Newbury next month following his excellent return to action at Ascot on Saturday.
The Alan King-trained grey has not been seen on the track for 660 days since he was an impressive Grade One winner at Aintree in 2009. But on his comeback n the Holloway's Handicap Hurdle following a leg injury he was only half a length behind Tiger O'Toole, whom he gave 19lb to. King was hoping to run Walkon in the Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock but after the meeting was called off early on Saturday morning, the six-year-old was switched to the Berkshire track.
