Walkers in Slave Trade Apology Bid

Summary


CAMPAIGNERS dressed in yokes and chains were starting a 250-mile walk today in a bid to bring an apology for the slave trade and seek an end to contemporary slavery.

A multinational team of about 20 people will be joined by schoolchildren and members of the public for parts of the walk from the Holy Trinity church in Hull, the home city of abolitionist William Wilber-force.
