University Is Defiant Over Links with Libya

A CITY university has vowed to continue dealing with Libya - with its vice chancellor stressing "We have nothing to be ashamed of ". A defiant Professor Michael Brown, at the helm of Liverpool John Moores University, hit out amid criticism that universities dealing with Libya were guilty of taking "blood money" from the violence- torn country's leader Colonel Gaddafi who is desperately clinging to power.

But, today Prof Brown said the university's commissions in the country related strictly to improving the health of its population and "hospitals which are at least 30 years behind".
