THOUSANDS of people gathered outside Liverpool Cathedral today as the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh arrived for the historic Maundy Service.
A public address system was set up so the crowds waiting to see the Queen and duke -who were due to arrive at the cathedral just before 11 am -could enjoy the musical performances ahead of the event and the serviceitself.
