ASENIOR Liverpool council official who had been investigating a controversial council contract with BT has been suspended.

Peter Cosgrove, assistant executive director for corporate services, was told to go home after an allegation of gross misconduct was made against him relating to "discrepancies" in council tax revenue collection.
