REGARDING the letter (ECHO, January 22) from D. Frederick, Shamed By Poverty, don't be guilt-tripped by this complex writer: absolute poverty in some parts of the world should shame us all.
This country is very generous with overseas aid. We have hundreds of workers helping. We give millions of pounds. We even have an army helping as well as two Royal Princes who roll their sleeves up. We may never conquer the world but we never turn our backs. We are always first at a crisis. Be proud, don't feel shame, it is not our fault.See the full content of this document
