Where was the family home you grew up in and what was it like? My family home was in a terraced house in Menzies Street in the Dingle. It was down the road from Gerry Marsden - he was number eight and we were number 45. Our parents were close friends. I loved living there and had a fabulous childhood.

What is your clearest memory of the house? It was in the 60s when the Merseybeat phenomenon kicked off, so there were always crowds of fans round Gerry"s house and The Beatles, who were massive by then, used to visit him in their green open top Jag.
