A NEW chapter has been announced in Runcorn's rugby league history after its only club announced complete independence. Many have tried and failed to restore the game to the town where it was so successful at the beginning of the last century.

For the last two seasons Runcorn Vikings have been flying the flag for the 13-a side code as members of the TotalRL.com Conference.
