RESIDENTS whose homes overlook one of Wirral's biggest regeneration schemes have hit out at the council after it insisted the developer press ahead with a new private gym and lido despite being told there is no one lined up to operate it.

Neptune Developments had proposed a number of alternative plans for part of its multimillion pound regeneration of New Brighton, including a splash park and either a smaller health club or all year round adventure playground - which would involve a smaller building.
