Ingredients: For the pastry: 2tbsp sugar; 55g/2oz plain flour, plus extra to dust; 25g/1oz walnuts; knob of butter; 1 free-range egg For the plums: 55g/2oz caster sugar; 3 plums, halved, stones removed; 1 vanilla pod, split, seeds scraped out; double cream, to serve Method: Preheat oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.

For the pastry, place the sugar, flour, walnuts, butter and egg in a food processor and blend until just come together as a dough.
