.ONE of Liverpool"s less-feted, but no less deserving, architectural gems, the towered and turreted Seamen"s Orphanage in Newsham Park, is in danger of being lost.

The Victorian masterpiece, by architect Alfred Waterhouse (Natural History Museum, London and Manchester Town Hall) is only being held together by emergency repairs.
