A NEW chemotherapy unit was opened in Liverpool to bring cancer treatment closer to patients' homes.
The centre at Liverpool Women's Hospital will treat gynaecological cancers every Tuesday and Wednesday. It will be run by staff from Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology and means Liverpool patients will not have to travel to Wirral for treatment. Health chiefs said the opening means Clatterbridge has reached its milestone of delivering chemotherapy treatment at seven off-site clinics across the region - the most comprehensive network of chemotherapy clinics in the UK.See the full content of this document
