A MUM and her eight-year-old daughter were seriously ill in hospital today after a two-car smash in Netherley late last night.
They were cut free by fire crews from a Vauxhall Astra after it collided with a Ford Mondeo, in Netherley Road, Tarbock Green, at around 11.30pm. A 42-year-old man from the Old Swan area, who was driving the Astra, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and was due to be questioned today. Police were unable to say what his relationship was with the mother and daughter who were passengers in the car. Fire crews from Belle Vale, Speke and Croxteth used specialist cutting gear to release them.See the full content of this document
