PERHAPS the owners of John Lennon Airport would like to consider another reason why passenger numbers have fallen recently. Peel already milk passengers by adding a pounds 1 surcharge to the taxi fare - a really pleasant 'welcome' for any visitors to our city.

Peel told a meeting of the City Council's Regeneration Committee four years ago that they had extra security equipment 'on order' and that queues would soon be eradicated. Those of us who have spent 45 minutes shuffling down the staircase will know that has not happened.
