THE FAMILY of a Merseyside lorry driver killed when he unloaded his truck saw a coroner's jury return an open verdict.

John Davies, 25, of Whiston, died instantly when four pallets weighing half a ton each fell from his wagon at a double glazing firm in Romford, Essex, an inquest heard. The accident, on October 29 last year, left his parents Lynn and John and his sister Paula devastated.
