RE: Jane Becket's recent letter about Gordon Ramsay's swearing on his TV cooking programme.

I was in the catering department in the MV Brittanic, on the Liverpool to New York run from 1951-1954. I can say without any doubt, that if Ramsay had carried on in that ship the way he does on television, he wouldn't have lasted past New Brighton.
