OF course not all terrorists are Muslim (ECHO Letters, Sept 29), but many are. It is therefore perfectly reasonable for John Reid to ask Muslims to report those in their midst who want to kill us. Equally, if any Muslims are offended by this reasonable request, then they themselves are to blame. Perhaps part of the reason they are so thin-skinned is because recent commentary on Islam, whether by Danish cartoonists, the Pope or Mr Reid, is so accurate.

One could negotiate with the IRA because they had limited objectives that did not include our destruction. How does one negotiate with fanatics who just want to convert you or kill you?
