DON'T all the black cabs, licensed by Liverpool city council, have to do a knowledge test, similar to the one in London? Last Thursday night, having just missed the bus, and being in somewhat of a hurry, I flagged down a black cab in Holt Road and asked the driver to take me to Edge Hill station in Tunnel Road, a straight run of about 800 yards or so.

Imagine my surprise when the driver admitted he didn't know which way to go and that he had never heard of the place!
