Judge in 2nd Drink-Drive Arrest ; Judge Makes It a Double As He Awaits Trial Exclusive Judge, 63, Questioned in Custody

Summary

A LIVERPOOL Crown Court judge was arrested for drinkdriving for the second time within just three weeks.

His Honour Judge Bruce Macmillan, already stopped by police in mid-August, was pulled over again in Toxteth on Thursday afternoon. The 63-year-old was breathalysed by officers on Hill Street and taken into custody where he was questioned. Mr Macmillan, from Sefton Park, was released on Thursday evening on conditional bail, pending further enquiries. It is the second time the pounds 128,000- a-year judge has been stopped for allegedly getting behind the wheel while under the influence. On August 27, the south Liverpool man was followed by a police patrol through Merseyside and along the M6 into Lancashire. He was pulled over by Lancashire Police in his black Vauxhall Signum, near the Charnock Richard services between Junctions 27 and 28. Macmillan was charged and released on bail and is due to appear before Chorley Magistrates on September 30. With that offence hanging over him, the judge was again apprehended, this time by Merseyside Police.
