FIFA president Sepp Blatter has warned England would face stiff competition in the battle to host the 2018 World Cup.

Blatter has opened the way for an England bid by revealing FIFA are next week set to scrap rotation of the tournament around the continents - and said he would welcome a bid "from the motherland of football".
