I WOULD take Ian Hernon's assertion that 'you can't afford to grow old under the Con-Lib coalition' (July 19) further, by suggesting that at present you can't afford to grow old under anybody.
Pensioner poverty is not a party political issue; sure Margaret Thatcher cut the pension link with earnings, but the Labour government had thirteen years in which to restore the relationship and did not. As the fat cats grow ever fatter that is now costing pensioners an estimated pounds 2,200 a year.See the full content of this document
