Summary
SOME of the city's most col ourful visitors have arrived from the arctic wastes of Scandinavia to dine on berries in West Derby. With long crests, black masks and pink and grey plumage, waxwings are winter visitors from the far north, a much prized sight for birdwatchers, who race hundreds of miles to watch flocks of these beautiful rarities.
This week no fewer than 144 waxwings descended on bushes at the junction of Derby Lane and Queens Drive to scoff berries.See the full content of this document
