Could Renting Be the Thing for You?

WITH the recession biting, fewer families are willing or unable to take the plunge into home ownership. And that means more and more people are contemplating renting as a long, or short, term option when it comes to securing a home.

We've Made It Onto the Ladder at Last

YOUNG couple Mike Benson and Sam Foley were among the many people who were starting to wonder if they'd ever get on the property ladder. After looking at a host of older properties they didn't have enough money to renovate and unable to save up enough for a deposit, they feared they'd never make the first rung.

TESTER: Elliott West, 25, manager. PRODUCT: L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Daily Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Lotion, pounds 7.82. VERDICT: This smelled lovely and had a great texture. The moisturiser dispensed easily and was easy to apply. The results were good too; it left my skin feeling so soft and gentle and shiny. It was a little pricey but a great product which I'd buy again - because I'm worth it... RATING: 9 out of 10.

Cancer Memorial ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

I AM writing to thank all your readers for coming along to our special cancer memorial held at the National Wildflower Centre at Court Hey Park throughout June. The memorial was held as part of World Cancer Research Funds (WCRF) annual Wildflower Appeal.

Trying to Like Andy Murray (but Not Finding It Easy) ; Paddy Shennan Likes: Pubs, Everton and Half Man Half Biscuit. Hates: Everything Else.

WIMBLEDON'S Centre Court was lit up in more ways than one on Monday night. With the rest of SW19 in darkness, Andy Murray and a man named Stan were thrilling a capacity crowd which, strangely, became a near- capacity crowd.

Two Tier System ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

I WAS fined for not having a TV licence, which I paid in full. The effort the authorities go to catch you makes you wonder should it be free.

Is It Time to Go? ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

AT least the Conservative party knows how to dispose of its unwanted leaders. What a pity the governing Labour party cannot bring itself to unseat its present leader, with whom they are obviously browned off.

Honour for Ray ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

I AGREE with Rex Makin and Terry Kavanagh regarding Professor Ray Donnelly not being appropriately recognised for his incessant work in trying to find a cure for lung cancer. Having been involved in some charitable work for The Roy Castle Foundation, we are well aware of how much time and effort Professor Donnelly puts into his work even attending the charity events with his wife when his work load makes it possible for him to do so.

Show Must Go On ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

WHO said theatre was dead? In my opinion it is alive and kicking and if you want proof ask anyone who went to see The Salon at the Theatre Royal in St Helens. It was one of the funniest shows I have seen in a long time. The content was raw and the language waswhat my motherwould have described as choice, but it managed to draw the humour out of the drama that is life. The cast were brilliant and gave a master class in acting.

Sort Out Hygiene ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

IWOULDlike to replyto the email No uniforms off duty. I totally agree with Kevin Kelly. I wrote to the Royal more than two years ago about this. Their reply was they issued plastic aprons and gloves to nurses treating patients, so it was OK.

Hard Working Mp ; You Say Email:Letters@Liverpoolecho.Co.Uk

I HAVE been reading in the letters page for some weeks now about Jane Kennedy the MP for Wavertree. There seems to be an attitude of sexism in a considerable number of these letters. It seems that because Ms Kennedy is a woman she is seen to be weak for standing up for her beliefs.
