Channel Hopping

SWITCHOVER will extend Freeview coverage to 98.5% of UK households (the same as analogue coverage today). In areas yet to switch, digital terrestrial services are only available from main transmitters. Channel availability depends on where you live and the type of transmitter you get your signal from.

How Will My Recording Equipment Be Affected? ; Advertising Feature: Digital Switchover

IT'S not just your TV which may be affected by switchover: recorders may need updating, too. When the switch to all-digital signals takes place, video and analogue DVD recorders will still play back and record, but you won't be able to record one channel while you watch another. If you want to continue doing this after switchover, the simplest way is to get a digital TV recorder.

Review ; the Caretaker Everyman

IT'S 45 years since The Caretaker was performed at the Everyman, and 35 since Jonathan Pryce - Olivier award winner and Bond villain - set foot on stage there. So there was a huge sense of expectation about this return of the prodigal son in a play which has become widely accepted as a seminal moment in theatre.

Keep the Idiots Out

ITHINK all our theatres in Liverpool at present are on a roll. The standard of production and diversity is brilliant. The other night I went to see the musical Our Day Out at the Royal Court by the writing genius, Willy Russell. It has the tingle factor. The sheer energy on that stage took me on a journey that made me laugh, cry and by the end I was exhausted.

Wizard, Oz

OZZY OSBOURNE is unpredictable but he wanted to bare his soul when I interviewed him for a one-hour special that airs this Sunday, October 10 on Radio City at 7pm. I dug into his past, his first wife Thelma. We talked about his love for his five children and how he can't bare to watch Jack on the TV programme Adrenalin Junkie. He has very strong views on rehab and his love for Sharon without whom he wouldn't be here today.
